Reunion in October
Contact Robin Leong
Was formed to provide the alumni (both graduates and non-graduates) with information about upcoming Kalani High School class reunions, alumni news and other items that may be of interest to alumni and classmates. In addition, a database of over 400 alumni is maintained (online) by our Reunion Committee. The database is kept current and is updated every month with the names and addresses of the most recent Classmates News like Obituary news and other changes of address by the Reunion Committee..
We are still missing over 20-45 classmates listed above. If you have information on any classmates who have passed away recently, please provide us with the details.
Class coordinators are the communications link within their classes and between their classes and the Reunions Committee. Between Great Reunions and individual class reunions they help to keep their class list updated primarily by locating missing classmates.
Did you know that Kalani High ranked 1715 in the nation as far as best
high schools? And they dropped to #2 in the state of Hawaii according to
US News and World Report. I learned this from KHS Principal Mitchell
Otani when Ed Young and I presented our 7 scholarship awards to the
seniors at our alma mater on May 18.
Here is the website for KHS ranking. (CLICK Here)
Sadly many of the schools in the
area I live in the North Bay were not
even ranked, so a 1715 ranking was not bad. Lowell High School in San
Francisco was ranked #3 in the nation.
Private schools are not in this
ranking process. I talked to my cousin
Ron Choy who graduated in '61 from Punahou. They just had their 55th
reunion in June. The class pledged about $200,000. The class 15 years
below Ron's class pledged 1.5 million but it has Steve Case founder of
AOL. President Obama sent a letter. It was the 175 founding of Punahou.
